Bright sunshine and a strong northerly wind greeted the East Central District Rifle Association shooters for the 300 yards shoot at Gobur last Saturday.

Doug Moser shooting his F class 223 was a clear winner with 48.5, 49.4 and a total of 97.9. Doug has put a lot of effort into mastering long range target shooting since he joined the ECDRA last year and was a pleasure to see him post a very good score under testing conditions, well done Doug. Other shooters in F class were Col Dossett 46.3, 45.2 = 91.5 and Ron Press 40.2, 49.2 = 89.4. Col had difficulty mastering the wind while Ron got off to a poor start and then soon recovered with the third best single range score for the day. In target rifle Ian Williams was the winner with both the top aggregate score and the highest range score for both classes on the day. Ian started with a 45.3 then on the second shoot shat a brilliant

49.5 for a total 94.5. Other target rifle score were Neil Broughton 46.4, 47.1 = 93.5, Robert Chaffe 45.1, 47.3 = 92.4, and Wally Gough 42.1, 43.1 = 85.2. Thanks must go to Wally Gough for ensuring there was a hot cupper to finish the day as the grey skies returned and light rain began to fall. Next week the ECDRA will contest the last round of the winter pennant at Karramomus, we wish the ECDRA team well.
