The highlight in September for the Euroa Red Cross Unit was the movie matinee screening of "Travels with my Aunt". The patrons were greatly amused by the outrageous antics of "Aunt Augusta" played by Maggie Smith. Afternoon tea was served with time for a chat and catching up with friends.
The past couple of weeks have been marked with natural disasters in neighbouring countries and money is urgently needed to assist in relief projects. To this end the Unit will conduct a raffle on Saturday, 31 October and Sunday, 1 November, during the Euroa Wool Week celebrations. The prize will be a super hamper filled with goods to help the winner plan for Christmas. The ticket sellers will also have an official receipt book to acknowledge donations for this appeal.
Members are reminded that donations for the hamper are needed. Goods with a festive theme are requested, such as non-perishable foodstuffs and perhaps decorations or other Christmassy bits and pieces. Donations may be left at the Already Read bookshop by 29 October. It is important that this raffle be a big, big success.
Members look forward to seeing you at the next meeting on 5 November. New faces are most welcome.
