Dear Editor,
Being fortunate enough to be staying with my eldest daughter in Euroa while the Show ’n’ Shine was in progress, I found the event was at least the equal of one held in Canberra, where my sister lives at Dickson.
You must be very proud of your little Village “op-shop” in the main street, which surpasses any I have seen in New South Wales (which, being a pensioner, I frequent regularly). All together, the shops and hotels were a pleasure to visit.
It was a pleasure, too, to meet up again after fifty years with Garry O’Brien and his Goggomobil, from my home town of Narrandera, in our “small world”.
Yours very sincerely,
Arthur W Eve

PS: With regard to the “Waterloo Cup” being held nearby at Longwood: my father, Arthur Eve senior, bred from a bitch out of former Waterloo Cup winner “Snappy”, in the 1930s. Her pups, by “Father’s Footsteps”, were all Riverina track record holders; they were “Dirigible”, “Idle Fancy”, “Hummer Can” and “Even Faithful”.
