After a long community campaign to secure funding from the Commonwealth Government early this year, the citizens of Violet Town and district will soon taste the fruits of their effort when, on 2 November 2009, a full-time medical general practice commences from the Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre.

The President of the Board of the Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre, Mr John Hawkes, announced at their Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 8 October 2009, that Dr Tianming Wang has been working closely with the Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre management and the North-East Division of General Practice, to ensure the smooth transition to clinical and business operations.

The communities of Violet Town, Euroa and Benalla will all benefit from this initiative, as Dr Wang will also participate on the Benalla and District Memorial Hospital’s after-hours roster.

Opening times at the Violet Town medical centre will be Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4.30pm.
