Vocal Nosh:

Singing together will be held in Strathbogie on Sunday 18 October from 6pm - 8.30pm. No prior experience is needed and singers do not need to be able to read music. However, many experienced singers also find it a most enjoyable experience as wonderful harmonics are created within minutes. Each session combines two hours of harmonic singing with sharing a hearty meal of soup and crusty bread. For more information ring Diane Mackrell on 5790 5241.

Strathbogie Shire Council Meeting:

The monthly meeting of Strathbogie Shire Council will be held at the hall on Tuesday 20 October at 6pm. This is an opportunity to ask Councillors and staff about any concerns that you may have. Our local councillor, Neil Murray, can be contacted by phone on 5795 3268.

Singing Group:

The next Tableland singing group will be held at 2pm on 25 October at the Strathbogie Church.

BoHoGie Music Sessions:

The next gathering will be on Friday 30 October, from 7.30pm at the Boho South Hall.

Sale with a difference:

On 7 November, Olga and Neil Walker will hold a community farm/garage sale on their farm and are inviting residents of the Tableland to join them. Bring along your pre-loved and unwanted goods and turn them into cash. Start time will be 8am. For information please ring Olga on 5790 8510.

Strathbogie Tableland Action Group:

The next meeting of STAG will be held on Monday 9 November in the Kelvin View Hall at 7.30pm. Kelvin View residents are invited to attend and meet with members of the Committee and discuss items on the current Action Plan.

Strathbogie Campus:

Welcome back to the start of our final term and already we’ve been busy with lots of work and extras.

School Council met here last night and Sandra is most capably filling in until the end of the year.

Many students competed in the Zoned athletics sports yesterday.

Heads were checked this morning for lice.

Lots of people plan to attend the working bee after school today.

In addition, we had a great visit from Nova today after her attendance at Zone and we had a cheery email from Ari.

Birthdays - A very special happy birthday to Jacob Chapman, who turned 7 on Saturday. Hope you had a great birthday, Jacob. Sonia brought in cup cakes for us to share at recess today.

Students of the week - We are so proud of the large contingent of Strathbogie students who attended the Zone athletic sports in Wangaratta and competed so well. As a consequence, we have nominated them as our students of the week. A big thankyou to all parents who took them up to Wang and supported them in their events.

Holiday cleaning - Thanks to those who came in and carried out their holiday cleaning. It is always an arduous task and it was made especially difficult this time with the painting.

Painting - The school looks fresh and clean with its new coat of paint. Despite our best efforts, the colours are not quite what we expected. There are also some issues regarding the clean-up.

Sports shed shelves - On the last day of term we had some shelves installed in the sports shed. This has enabled us to organise things far more effectively. Thanks to Richard for coming to give Chris a hand and to all who helped put things in and tidy up especially Lachy and Ryley.

Mowing - Thanks to Ian Millar, who mowed for us during the holidays.

Front gate driveway - Thanks to Rod and Rolf from the Shire, who repaired the school gateway. This was much appreciated, as it was getting quite dangerous.

Reading helpers - Thankyou to our reading helpers, who come in regularly all year to hear the children read. We all appreciate your efforts. This week Diana Hand came along to fill our Wednesday vacancy. We hope she enjoyed our beautiful reading as much as we enjoyed having her come to visit us.

Gardening update - Annabelle had a busy day again on Wednesday, spreading manure on the seedlings in the vegie patch. Clydie and Dylan provided some valuable assistance. If you have any time to spare in our garden on Tuesday before lunch, you would be most welcome.

RFB rosters for Sunday 18 October:

Strathbogie - Chris Thomson, David Joyce, Trevor Hoare, Jon Frederick, Tristan Rozema;

Kelvin View - Trevor Butterfield, Andrew Mackrell, Leon Mackrell.
