The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority has continued its substantial financial support for the Second Generation Landcare program for the 2009/2010 financial year allocating $429,716 to a number of key projects across the catchment.

The Second Generation Landcare (SGL) program has been managed by the region (CMA) since 2000-01. The program funds a range of community projects around pest plant and animal, biodiversity and community education activities.

In August the SGL Assessment Panel met to finalise a package of projects from the 2009-10 Expressions of Interest to recommend to the ICs and the CMA Board for Second Generation Landcare funding for 2009-10.

Over the coming weeks, groups that have been successful this year will be notified and works can get underway to protect and enhance the natural resource values of our catchment.
