Rebecca Kohn, known to many Euroa residents as the smile behind the counter of one or two Binney Street businesses, recently realised an ambition by setting up a home-based hair and beauty salon.

Rebecca has lived in and around Euroa all her life. She is the daughter of Gary and Janet Kohn, who moved from the township to Miepoll South when Rebecca was young, to give their children the opportunity to enjoy rural living. The family was keen on horse-riding, and Rebecca was a member of the Euroa Pony Club as well as being a keen gymnast and swimmer.

Progressing through Euroa Primary School and Secondary College, she subsequently completed a Certificate III in Hairdressing at Pivot Point College in Melbourne. She has also completed a Certificate III in Beauty Service at the Kim O’Keefe Beauty School in Sheppartonand has completed a wide range of extra courses including sunless tanning, eyelash perming and Brazilian waxing.

As well as working in other fields, Rebecca has had six years’ experience in hairdressing and five years in the beauty industry, including managing a salon. In the specially-equipped room of her home in Elizabeth Street, she offers a variety of hair and body care treatments. Her home business hours are designed to suit working people and are also convenient for parents, who are more than welcome to bring their children along for the experience of a home-based salon.

Hair treatments for both sexes include men’s, womens and children’s cuts, colours, foils and perms. Rebecca is also set up to provide waxing, manicures, pedicures, gel nails, prescription nails, sunless tans, paraffin treatments, facials, Swedish massage and a lot more.
