Magpie season begins next Saturday

When Kevin Sheedy became coach of Essendon all those years ago he realised he needed more skill and pace. He had the foresight to go to the Northern Territory and recruit indigenous football players and the rest is history.

After a year of planning down that path the Euroa Football Club last week welcomed Relton Roberts and Rohan Bonson from Katherine who played in the practice game against North Heidelberg on Saturday evening. They have genuine skills and are very, very quick.

The opposition were a very good Melbourne team and although we held our own for a couple of quarters in the second half they were just to strong.

The Reserves played well and had a narrow four point victory.

The very successful Festival of Football has now concluded and now it is game on for the real action next Saturday when we host Rochester.
